Marilyn Monroe – Rock Sitting (RK-10)

The Essential Marilyn Collection
Milton H. Greene
  • In 1953, Milton was sent by _Look_ magazine to Los Angeles to photograph an up-and-coming star by the name of Marilyn Monroe.Appropriately entitled the Rock Sitting, it was one of six sittings they created that first meeting (Tree, Evening Dress, Mandolin, Nude, and some candids).

Taking advantage of a more rustic setting, this image taken in Laurel Canyon portrays a Marilyn classic - pedal pushers and all.The pedal pusher corduroy suit was very much en vogue at the time.

Here, we see Marilyn in a very relaxed pose, with her arms crossed.Pin_it_button
